Barlinek

Barlinek is a little city in western Poland. When you discover it, you will be surprised how many advantages there are. This old fortified town boasts an extraordinary historical heritage and very friendly residents. It is surrounded by fragrant forests and glistening lakes.

If you want to immerse yourself in the crystal clear water, the Barlineckie Lake must be one of the places  that you should visit. It is the largest and the most beautiful water reservoir in the region, having four islands and the varied coastline. The area offers many leisure activities, including sailing, kayaking, mushroom hunt, horseback riding, hiking or cycling. You can even board the water tram.

Barlinek is also the European Capital of Nordic Walking. There are about 240 kilometers of trails, including 54 kilometers of routes prepared especially for Nordic Walking enthusiasts. The nature lovers can take a walk among the Barlinek Primeval Forest and listen to the birds singing.

If you enjoy playing chess, you may be interested in fact, that this small town is the place of birth of Emanuel Lasker – mathematician, world chess champion and a good friend of Albert Einstein. The city also hosts numerous cultural events. You can meet the Barlinek Primeval Forest Queen or enjoy the performances presented each year during Barlinek Theater Summer. Or you can compete in chess tournament. Here, everyone will find something for themselves.
