If you miss the contact with nature, you should visit the Tuchola Forest. It is the largest dense forest complex in Poland, dotted with almost 900 mid-forest lakes and a network of over 600 kilometers of well marked cycling and hiking trails.
The majestic forests are crossed by two rivers: Brda and Wda. Together with the side streams they form the most interesting waterways in Poland. Imagine yourself kayaking amid the fragrance and greenery of the forest. Imagine that the only sounds you can hear are the singing birds and rushing water. You know that there is no better way to relax!
The entire route takes about 8 days. However, it is worth lengthening this time frame and enjoy the surrounding nature as much as possible. On the shore you will see a multitude of mushrooms and berries. You can also observe a variety of birds and wild animals, including deer, roe deer, wild boar, fox and wolf.
Or maybe you would like to see Europe’s largest concentration of yew trees in Europe? Then you should visit nature reserve Cisy Staropolskie located in Wierzchlas forest inspectorate. Here you will find many spectacular centuries-old specimens. In recognition of the combination of unspoiled nature and preserved local culture, the area was designated by the UNESCO International Coordinating Council as the Tuchola Forest Biosphere Reserve. Everyone is welcome to the Tuchola Forest Days celebration held under the motto reflecting the key characteristics of this area: “Come to visit us! The forest will welcome you and the people will host you!”
